Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.307

We're in Nassau Bahamas, and here is an ongoing wild AIS show...

Yesterday I saw a vessel and her tender both using the same MMSI.

Today there is a vessel with two AIS transmitters with different MMSI numbers.

This is just one vessel, now moored not to far away.

I would not be surprised if some AISA MOB devices uses the mother ships
MMSI, setting up a potential for dangerous confusion.....

When I do a search at:
Particulars of Ship stations
neither the two MMSI numbers are found nor the ship name.

Thomas.
I think you're visiting a place without strong feelings for bureaucracy and order. Not much to do in OCPN with such user errors, is it?

Hakan...

Agreed, except we should not crash, and we should not eat up all the users disk space with crazy log and cache entries. I think we are good on this now.

Thomas: Any unfriendly behaviour of OCPN in Nassau?

Thanks again
Dave

@Håkan
I agree that there isn't much for O to do in these situations.
I would not blame Bahamas for any of this. It's up to the flag states to handle these matters. The boat in my last example is US registered, most of the other "sinners" are from the hand full of states that provides "flag of convenience" for larger pleasure boats.

@David
O 4.6 behaves really well. No gray areas seen so far with oeSENC, and your fixes for the mmsi data file works well, and were spot on for this release.

Thanks!
