Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

Windows and Mac OS X versions are available now!
64 bits Ubuntu 13.10 is up as well. 32 bits soon.

All grib users on Linux and Mac that has installed a mailserver for auto download.....
You must ad this line in opencpn.ini

[PlugIns/GRIB]
SendMailMethod=1

to continue auto download.

The default for Linux is now to start the local mail program with a prepared mail that has to be sent manually. Which is the way it's working for windows.
For Mac... I don't know. Requires testing.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

Folks....

At the risk of being pedantic....

The PlugIn aisradar_pi18_v092_pi.dll is KNOWN FAULTY. It will crash, every time.Please, if it exists on your system, find it and exterminate it. We want not just dead, but obliterated. Really.

(I'm looking at the first 3.3.1303 crash reporter here.... )

Thanks

For Linux users....
To continue were my last post ended.....

The grib plugin uses "xdg-email" to be able to find the default mail program on your computer. If you don't have this installed, you may see some complaints. In this case just

I think that xdg-utils will be installed on most standard installations of Ubuntu, but to be correct this package should be added as a "recommend" in the packages.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

Hi Testers....

The first crash reports for 3.3.1303 are appearing...sigh....

1. Identified fault: Vector charts, quilted or not. If you do an object query by double clicking at a point where there is no chart (i.e. the background chart only is showing), you will crash. Root cause well understood, no need to Flyspray this one.

2. VIA Chrome 64bit OpenGL driver on Win7 is randomly faulting. Suggest to use non-GL mode if you have this chipset/driver. This is difficult to debug, since we have no symbolic information for this driver. Perhaps the user (three crashes tonight) might step forward and we could try to analyze this further.

Thanks for your patience...

Hello and happy new year to everybody.

I'm afraid there's the same old problem with the route manager's windows on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
For instance, the add window opens behind the main one.
Not important but...

Works fine with W8.1 and XUbuntu.

El Pinguino

To start OpenCPN without OpenGL.....
Simply go to the list of all your installed programs, whatever that is called in W7, click OpenCPN and then "OpenCPN 3.3.1303 - No OpenGL".

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

Thomas, many thanks for that.
All fixed...
I envisioned spending all of tomorrow scratching around inside programs and changing stuff , a scary thought.

I'll have another look at 3.2.2 in the morning and see if its the same fix,
Cheers,
Frank

Jean...

Acknowledged.....

Mac has particular ideas about children of dialogs, and I need to make special case for each situation. Obviously I missed a couple....

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

Interesting, downloaded 3.2.2 this morning as a parallel installation. It now opens perfectly in either No OpenGL or standard mode. Closed it and went back to 3.3.1303, now it also opens happily in either No OpenGL or standard mode.
So this is going to remain one of life's little mysteries.....

It's really a very little thing compared with the great job done...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1303 Released

I do have a problem with the 3.3.1303 Mac version.

There is no context menu "Weather Table" in the downloaded 3.3.1303 Mac version. However in the downloaded Windows version 3.3.1303 this context menu shows up when grib plugin is activated.

Now in my own compiled Mac version this context menu shows up however and the weather table starts as expected. When shutting down OpenCPN however after a weather table was shown and closed then OpenCPN crashed with some hints like that:

Quote:
Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
0 libgrib_pi.dylib 0x00000001179545b5 GribRecord::getInterpolatedValue(double, double, bool) const + 37
1 libgrib_pi.dylib 0x000000011792d6e4 GRIBUIDialog::UpdateTrackingControls() + 148
2 libgrib_pi.dylib 0x000000011792d649 GRIBUIDialog::SetCursorLatLon(double, double) + 57
3 libgrib_pi.dylib 0x00000001178f32a3 grib_pi::SetCursorLatLon(double, double) + 67
4 opencpn 0x000000010ccfa16d PlugInManager::SendCursorLatLonToAllPlugIns(double , double) + 189 (pluginmanager.cpp:879)
5 opencpn 0x000000010cae212f ChartCanvas::MouseEvent(wxMouseEvent&) + 3615 (chcanv.cpp:5505)
6 opencpn 0x000000010cb42053 glChartCanvas::MouseEvent(wxMouseEvent&) + 35 (glChartCanvas.cpp:437)
Trying to find the problem with debugger I have had no success. Any hints are welcome. I am using Xcode 5.0.1 and wxWidgets 3.1.

Question also: Why is there no weather table in the downloaded Mac version?

Gerhard
