Release Beta 3.1.1220

Notes:
96. This may be the silver bullet that fixes Prolific USB-Serial adapters on Win7/64. So far, my local testing has been flawless. Please hit this configuration hard if you have Win7 and a Prolific USB device. This also relates directly to the BU-353 GPS hockey puck. If you experience a drop-out failure that does not reconnect automatically, please make note of your Prolific driver version, as listed in the Windows Device Manager. This will be important.

105/114. New translatable strings embedded. Please update your .po files as able.

Status:
We are getting very close to freezing the feature set for OCPN 3.2. Now would be a good time to bump any last minute features or other ideas that you feel strongly about.

Please check your Flyspray tasks, and request closure if you are satisfied, or leave more information if not. We need to close most, if not all, of the Beta31 FS tasks before we release the official version 3.2.

Thanks for your continued testing support!

Good Luck
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Hej
1)
WinXP to Win7, UDP local broadcast works just fine. Appreciate! :-)

2)
AIS target info pop-up window now shows all info inside the frame! :-)

3)
"Journeyman Flat " interface scheme. "Navigate to" Leg info text still not visible. :-(

I'll test also NMEA-RMC handling, old/new protocol, when in boat next time, :-)

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

oh, jeez, not working with the port emulator "XPORT"...anybody else have this as a glitch?
This Port Emulator is especially usefully when the computer is put in sleep mode- it awakens GPS, which nothing else has been able to do yet!

from Log:
8:03:24 AM: Opening NMEA Datastream Serial:COM10
8:03:24 AM: PlugInManager searching for PlugIns in location D:\KEEPERS\Navigation\OPEN CPNinstall+help\OPCN_3_PORTABLE3.1.220\plugins ETC.

EDIT it does seem to work with another emulator I use ("VSPE") either and I get same as above for log.

...it (xport) Worked in last beta

AND the USB gps works fine without XPORT in between.

Ami,

can't confirm this. On my XP SP3 and W7 installations the dashboard is ok.

Did you try different fonts?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Oh, and maybe not the right place to mention it, But a new Beta overwrites my preference in the ini file here:

[Settings/Others]
DefaultWPIcon=

otherwise everything else stays good- my tides,my charts etc

YES! I've seen that. (I'd forgotten because I was sailing with the last beta and it got lost in the muddle)

You must change the font to fix it

Which font are you using? It looks like a serif font.

I tried Gentium and Liberation Serif and both are ok under XP.
