Before I had 3.0.2 and the boat was going straight.

And for my autopilot, it is fed by nothing for instant. It is independent.
After testing today I can confirm this point:
SOG and COG are shown correctly in dashboard but the ownship icon does not point to the correct angle.

It seems to stay within a margin of 90deg from the correct one, without moving until you change course beyond those 90deg. And the applied angle seems always to be a a round one as 0 deg, or 140....

I have recorded the data stream with VDR, but we are talking about 2.6MB.

Dave, if you still need a part of it please just ask.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

The "glitches" of the track with a 0.0N, 0.0E waypoint:

in today's test nothing like this happened.

After memorizing we think, that the most probable culprit is the USB cable.
(Finally we put a little wedge of paper between the support and the plug at the AIS to make the connection more stable - USB cables are a nightmare)

We missed AIS/GPS output in the past sometimes, which lead to crashes of O.
With the new version this does not happen anymore, and furthermore, O will reconnect to the GPS once the device is back, so you will perhaps not even notice that the connection was interrupted.

Is it possible that this will produce 0.0 waypoint?

bcn...

I guess I do need that VDR datastream. I can take a big upload via standard email.
PM coming with my email address.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Dave,

Windows 7 and 4 screenshots (in french sorry) :

1/ just launch OPCN with GPS plugged in and tool box + nmea debug opened,
2/ i just ticked the output box without anything more, then the nmea debug windows freeze (nearly) and OCPN is very long to respond ("no respond" indicated in the tool box window)
3/ OCPN respond again very slowly in the input and output configuration (RMB sentence is not here because no route activated)
4/ after unplugged the gps, no return to a "normal" reaction of OPCN and attempted to close the tool windows => warning window : opencpn not responding.

Hope it helps.

Zorg.

zorg...

I think your attached image has what I need to see, but it is in compressed jpeg, and I cannot read it. It is simply too small

Please try a png upload, or other format.

Thanks

Dave. SILVER BULLET! Soaked in Garlic and driven in with a wooden stake.
Not one crash the whole day, and threw the book at it.
THANK YOU

Why can I not resize the options window? Also the options windows icons are not coloured but black/white (Samsung netbook W7). Why?

I have no problems resizing on Linux. What have you tried?
The option dialog icons are b/w because you are using the Journeyman Style.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Right clicking a Dashboard -> Preferences -> Dashboard -> Caption

Whatever changes in Caption, Calling it "Dashboard 1" or "Whatever", is not displayed on the screen. Each dashboard is always just called "Dashboard".

adding:
Why is the "Edit" button in the Dashboard preference dialog?
As far as I can say, there has never been any "action" connected to it.

Thomas, I can not resize it: I can not make the window narrower, smaller or even larger. I can not change its shape. I use Samsung netbook w7 on it. Good to know that I see b/w just because of the journey man only, thank you.

By the way do you have any idea why some Turkish traslated plugin files (GE, kml) were not displayed even I chosed Turkish installation? I had translated and post them to the forum for so long time before.

I just tested on an XP - no problem. There may be some garbage in your ini file. Try this: Close down O. Rename your opencpn.ini file.
Restart. It will behave like a new install. Any changes?
To revert to your original ini file, close down again, delete opencpn.ini, rename your original file back to opencpn.ini. Restart.

Testing on an 9" eeepc with Linux, I can resize OK, but the minimum size accepted is way to big, so the "Options" ends up occupying 2/3 of the real estate available.

Regarding your translations, send a pm to Nohal about GE and SethDart about kml, and I'm sure it will be sorted out.

Thank you Thomas, I did what you said but nothing changed. I have this problem from the earlier version on.

I will send the translated files to SethDart.

Merry Christmas
