Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.2.1706 Release

Current Grib2's
Windows10, v4.2.1706
In testing some grib2, it occurred to me that the shank of the Current arrows could get longer for higher current speed. Rather than having a fixed double arrow, under Current settings I found a "Proportional" arrow which appears to make the arrow shank heavier for greater current.

Current effect would be more easily gauged if the shank also got longer with greater current (amplitude). Have not seen how this plays with Wind grib arrows, but often wind and current are different files. (I'd like to have a tool get them joined or imported or something).

This screenshot also shows the problem with the Grib Menu height which in Windows is connected to the height of the Opencpn Screen (change the height of OpenCPN scree and the menu changes too) and takes up excessive space and is fixed and unmoveable. All the data types have this same problem with the screen. It should remember it's size and location for the next use.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.2.1706 Release

Hi Pavel,

Any chance the latest beta of BR24radar pi (v 1.32) can be added to the beta repository?

I updated O today and it works fine. I am trying to get a lot of sea time testing done before we get hauled out on Tuesday.

Cheers, ....Erik.

Perhaps silly question....
I followed the instruction and used my 'Software Centre' until the progress wheel stopped turning. (the list of my sources is attached).

Is the Beta version now installed?
How do I start the Beta version?
I can only see the one icon that starts the stable 4.2

Erik..
If I might come in?
The latest BR24radar_pi release, not beta, v 1.32 is available on OCPN download page: PlugIns for OpenCPN 4.2 | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Using resent OCPN beta all features in v 1.32 are utilized.

Erik...

The latest version is in both the PPAs as it is stable. There is no newer code we can package available.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.2.1706 Release

Hi Håkan,

Unless I missed something (which could happen as there was over 30 knots blowing through the anchorage...), the BR24radar pi 1.32 is only available as download for Windows and the Mac. I saw no Linux package. Yes, I know that I can download the source and all the development stuff, but I really, really do not want my navigation computer connected to the Internet.

Cheers, ....Erik.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.2.1706 Release

Hi

with the release 4.0.0 in track properties
changing the width of track is correctly displayed : in the new release nothing change on screen , track width not change

In this version also when there are many tracks imported the hourglass (working circle) always present . Stopping and starting again the arrow is displayed but zooming will appear the circle working .

I tried on Win7 to install the version 4.0.0 and the problem disappear .

Appear with 4.2.0 and on beta.

With Ubuntu Trusty is not possible the downgrade.

If you want i send you a track file for testing purpose.

Regards

John

I confirm this is the case with this beta on W 10. Changing the track width in properties has no effect.
