OpenCPN Android - GPS isn't accurate

Hi, could you please help me. I just bought new tablet - Samsung (Android 11). I would like to use it for navigation - OpenCPN with CM93 charts. I installed it and position on chart is not accurate. I tried download Navionics trial free charts app into my new tablet and position is exact.
On my old Lenovo (Andrioid 7) tablet OpenCPN works absolutely fine with accurate GPS.
Where can be the problem?
Please help 😊 Thank you.

WHICH Android OpenCPN version? It must be the Dave Register paid version.

Also, which Samsung tablet?

A screenshot of your setup and NMEA input (enable NMEA Debug window) would help others help you.

(I use OpenCPN on several Android systems, including Samsung, with accurate positions.)

Do you have charts loaded in OpenCPN?

It might be clearer if you showed screenshots of both apps and what position each shows.

On desktop OpenCPN the latitude and longitude are shown in a bar at the bottom of the screen - I'm not sure where it's displayed on the Android version, but it might be helpful to post a screenshot of it showing your latitude and longitude, and then also saying what your actual latitude and longitude are.

Why is the software called Dave Register paid version? It sounds so like 'hey buy me, I am a virus from Russia just waiting to lurk in your system'. I actually have always thought that 'Dave's version' can't be genuine, or something is wrong at Google Play so have never installed, choosing instead, as the OP has, of using Navionics on my tablet.

Can the authors not call the software something sensible at Google Play?

It is called "OpenCPN" on Google Play. Period. The author/company is listed as Dave Register.

Re: OpenCPN Android - GPS isn't accurate

Your version is a very old, forked version of Android OpenCPN that nobody maintains.
How shall somebody search for bugs or strange GPS positions?

If you want to use OpenCPN on anAndroid device, go for the up-to-date and supported version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....opencpn&hl=en

... ... for the fourth time of telling! Momo1 the early version you're using is not compatible with modern tablets, sensors or versions of Android.

Re: OpenCPN Android - GPS isn't accurate

That is a wonderful accomplishment Momo1, but you're version is totally antiquated and will cause confusion for new users looking for the one that is current. In my opinion, you should really not be publicizing it, for the benefit of all.
