Hello, everybody,
I just reinstalled charts with a fresh openplotter system on an RPI3.

1. with plugin -> no view of the maps.
2. manual map download -> no view of the maps.
3. manual map download with removal of the letters (ÄÖÜß) -> all maps visible !!!

It is therefore clearly due to the letters.

So you did just delete the "offending characters" from the file name of the downloaded charts?
Download was ok, but OCPN did not digest those charts?

That's right.
The chart downloader downloads the correct files as *.zip.
Unpacking won't work then.
in the *.zip file is e.g. the following folder
"Untere-Havel-Wasserstra�e_70-155_2019-03-05/"

I think "�" is causing these problems.

Stop: you did unzip with a different program and then you did modify the file names in the resulting directory?
Just to understand which process at which point does have an issue here with the character sets.

I'm trying to summarize everything.
If I download the files manually from the website, I get the following file
"Kuestenkanal_2019-02-26_0_70", there you will find the following folder:
"K?stenkanal_2019-02-26"

If I download the required map with the map downloader, then the following zip will be created.

When I look into this file, I see the following folder in / home / pi / Charts / ENC / DE_INLAND.
"WW64_2019-02-12_0_61.zip"

"Elbe-L?beck-Channel_2019-02-12 /"

I can avoid the problem with RPI by changing the character set in the settings from UTF-8 to ISO- 8859-1.

BUT
1.
I can't start on the RPI Openplotter anymore.




The problem is clearly due to the problematic letters.
It would be easiest if the WSV didn't use these letters.

PSI would like to know what it looks like with other locales.
Are there such problems as well?
Everything works when an Englishman, Dane, Dutchman, ...
downloads and installs German maps.

next realization,
If I change the Pi to English, then I have no problems at all.
Openplotter starts and maps are downloaded corrects.
the Charater- set is ISO-8859-1.

I have no idea why there are problems in the German character set.
