Opencpn and Zygrib

I use Opencpn and Zygrib, but recently I have developed a problem. If I download zygrib to a file, then go to Opencpn and try to access that file It does not work. I have checked the file address several times and the address is the same for both programs, but if I look at the grib files in Zygrib, they are not the same as the files in Opencpn. The connection between the two has worked OK in the past. Any ideas?

Re: Opencpn and Zygrib

I have no idea what operating system you are using.

I had a fresh look at zyGrib version 8.0.1 on my Linux box and found a strange error.

What zyGrib calls "home" in their file dialog is in reality "/home/thomas/".
If I start with root click on first "home" and then "thomas" the dialog calls it just "home".
So if you have a path /home/sailing/navigation/gribs in zyGrib you must point the grib plugin to /home/thomas/sailing/navigation/gribs. If you use the same path in the plugin as in zyGrib you will indeed point to a different directory.

I have use zyGrib for years without noticing........!!

Re: Opencpn and Zygrib

Do not forget that now, Zygrig is replaced by Xygrib.

Thank you Thomas. I am using windows 10. I have tried to find "home" but no luck. I have also used zygrib for some years and this seems to be a new problem. And what is the difference between Zygrib and Xygrib?

Zygrib is abandoned. XyGrib is it's actively maintained continuation which started from the very latest ZyGrib codebase.
