OpenCPN and Ubuntu 15.04

I upgraded from 14.04 where everything was working to 14.10 where I didn't test anything to 15.04 where I am running into issues with my GPS puck (USB)

In toolbox/Connections I am setting up with a new connection, network, GPSD selected with localhost and port 2947. This was my previous configuration (as far as I know) that always worked. Now, when I click on 'apply' I get an error box that says "You must enter the address ..."
Huh ????? What address? The address field says 'localhost' - is that wrong?
Colour me confused ! Any help would be appreciated !

After lots of flailing about I have solved my problem. I am not sure what all fixed things but I upgraded to OpenCPN ver 4 and also changed the puck to have a serial over USB connection rather than the net connection.
