Does anyone know why certain vector/raster charts are not displaying? Multiple zoom levels have been tried along with vector and raster charts.

The picture looks right to me, assuming you have NOAA ENCs loaded.

How does one get complete vector chart coverage at all zoom levels? Or are some geographies not covered by vector charts? In parallel, I am also trying to download raster charts.

I don't know if Oliver's problem is the same as mine, but I'm having a similar problem. If you would like me to start a new thread I can. I've been thinking about posting anyway but I've not figured out the best way.

In any case, in trying to plan out a trip to Nova Scotia, I have put my OpenCPN at a zoom level to see the relevant land masses. I'm attaching the first zoom level first.

Note there are four of the tiles for different parts of the chart with only the third one over highlighted and it's respective chart are touching the tip of Nova Scotia displayed. I used to be able to click on each tile and have the chart areas displayed at the same time but that no longer happens - no matter where I'm looking. In this case I'm looking from NOAA ENC's to Canadian ENC's but it doesn't matter even if I'm looking only inside one of these data sets.

Now, if I click on the far left hand lower tab - the whole chart jumps to a different zoom, and only displays that one chart area. See next image. This makes for really difficult trip planning and it did not happen in some of my previous work with this program. Thinking it could be somehow related to my version, I've updated to the most recent version - 5.10.2-0+12e5712

I'm running in Windows 10 - but that hasn't changed at all other than the usual upgrades I'm forced to install....

Let me know if I should start a separate thread or if any other information you may need.

You are running in "single-chart" mode, non-quilted.
I can see this because the little green bars at the bottom have "square" corners, instead of "rounded" corners.

Strike the "q" key to shift to quilted mode.

There are no "free" vector charts for Canada. Canadian vector charts are available for licensing at o-charts.org.

Yes, I know, that's why I bought them through o-charts.

OK, so this is much better, but I still can't get the charts to display over a large area. See the first image. the second image I've zoomed in more so you can see I do have the Canadian charts in - actually I took the first image so you can see in the upper right corner, part of Newfoundland is showing. The non-highlighted tab in the first image is actually a bit south of my boats position hence no need to display. Just the top edge of that chart is is in the lower left hand side hence it is visible but not turned on.

thank you much for the Q command - I must have turned it off somehow without knowing. It would be even better if could get larger areas to show....

Thank you for the replies and suggestions.

The "Q" command is a useful shortcut. I did already have quilting turned on, but it did seem to help others. Learning that vector charts are not available in Canada as they are in the States, I will need to investigate that further. It seems that is one of the reasons that charts were not displaying for Canadian waters.

Now, what I am still wondering is how to display raster charts. It appears that I have downloaded the RNC product catalog (see image), however in trying various zoom settings and chart selectors, I have not been able to display any raster charts.

I tried the chart directory scan multiple times.

Should I utilize and alternate source to download the raster charts?

Raster charts are mainly intended as a secondary view to route planning and navigation.
