Re: OpenCPN 5 can not connect to USBserial device (virtual COM port) in Windows 10

SUCCESS!!!
Yes, deleted the version I had and downloaded the " latest development version" and BINGO...GPS reception through COM Port at last!! :-)
Then added the Fax plugin...my God, that works also!! No legible Fax receptions here until later tonight (I'm in the West Indies so GMT-4). I thought I'd try to find a .wav audio file to try out but having spent hours on that I've given up! If someone reading this knows of a source of pre recorded WXFAX audio transmission in .wav format please let me know? Thanks to those who helped here....you know who you are ;-)
Now, while we're here...one other question...on my chart display, on certain scales there is a misalignment of the charts...is there a fix for this please? TIA (please see attached picture).

There's an audio file of moderate quality that I've borrowed for WFax testing a couple of times here. Don't expect the clearest picture, but it will tell you if everything is working.

There are a couple more on Freya's website that I haven't used/tested.

Don’t forget that the plugin can download charts from NOAA over the web. So that’s a good way to learn the tool as well.
