Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Zuza..
And what if you use "Route & Mark Manager" to handle the layers?
It works for me on Win10

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Hello and thanks for your attention.

Well, attached are two examples, but all the others that refer to this layer have the same problem.
These files were downloaded from the OpenCPN website, but I also downloaded directly from another important website, which even after the conversion maintained the same problems in OpenCPN:

https://www.marineregions.org/downloads.php#goas

*I tried to attach these files, but are very large and therefore not accepted by the forum system, nor in 7zip, but I am sending the respective links:

https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/li...layers:weez.7z

https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/li...uth_america.7z

Thanks again

Downloaded from where exactly on OpenCPN website?

By "conversion" you mean exactly what? And what exactly do I have to download from marineregions.org to convert?

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Yes I also tried directly by Route & Mark Manager
I mentioned the eventual conversion on the website described, because on the website mentioned, the download is done on other file types, such as: SHP, KML, etc.

Hi, I have managed to transfer my Nimble Navigator CM93 charts onto OpenCPN 5.6.2 but do not get the same amount of detail as I did on the Nimble program.. for example it used to show the whole of the Kiel Canal and marinas along the way with depths, now I don't even get the canal.
The old laptops crashed along with the program so using new laptop with OpenCPN.
Any ideas.??? preferably in Dino-speak, total Luddite here..
Oh.. Its a Windows10/11

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Hi again

Maybe I'm not clear, but I'll try to explain it better:

In OpenCPN, layers appear related in the Manager, including Layers that have been placed directly in the Layers folder in Windows 10 "ProgramData", as well as layers added as Temporary or Permanent, through the respective Manager, but that's all, because some such as WEE, or the other semelhandes files from each country, simply don't appear on the chart, when effectively selected in the Manager check box.
What happens is this, but some Layers appear normally, however the strangest thing is that in the previous version 5.6.0, everything occurred normally, and these layers were shown without problems.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

ZUZA...

The problem with layer reported relates to the form of the .GPX files referenced. This is a known bug in OpenCPN v5.6.2., related to timestamps in <trkpt> elements. There is no simple workaround.
If you require these layer files, I suggest that you revert to OpenCPN v5.6.0.

Sorry

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Hi Dave

I will be waiting for a possible solution.
In my case when it comes to my tracks from other programs, I after trying to numerous programs generating the same type of file, finally one of them generated the track that OpenCPN can read, so if some way, these two types of .txt files , are of some use to your research, the original that was not read, and the same converted file that has been read, please notify me and I will send them.

Thank you again for your attention

ZUZA...
The problem root cause is well understood, and a solution is in hand. We are simply waiting for the "correct" time to make a new Release of OCPN. It may be a little while.

Thanks for your offer of files to assist.

Re: OpenCPN 5.6.2 Released

Hi,

I'm still trying to use OpenCPN 5.6.2 on my raspberry ..

Now if I open the Options window, then click on "Plugins" menu, OpenCPN crashes.

It says:
*** BUG ***
In pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed
Set a breakpoint on '_pixman_log_error' to debug

SENC: nCPU: 4 m_max_jobs :3

(opencpn:8567): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 22:05:55.692: gtk_box_gadget_distribute: assertion 'size >= 0' failed in GtkScrollbar
Erreur de segmentation

Does anybody have a clue ??
Thanks
