OpenCPN 5.2.0 - Issue with Tracked Vessels (MMSI Properties)

Since upgrading on v5.2.0 on both Windows and Linux, I have not been able to get tracked vessels to work.

I have vessels configured in “MMS Properties” with “always track” and “persistent” enabled. Previously, this would record a track and display it on the screen. The tracks are not being recorded automatically and not turning up in “tracks” in Route and Marks Manager either.

is there an issue with this in 5.2.0 or some configuration setting that I need to update?

thanks

PS - I'd be interested to hear if others can replicate this issue.

@rooiedirk
Thank you for the bug fix.
Updated "AIS_Decoder.cpp" and compiled on Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster).
This still doesn't appear to work.
No track is recorded and there's no entry in “tracks” in Route and Marks Manager either.

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.0 - Issue with Tracked Vessels (MMSI Properties)

Has anyone been able to verify whether this is fixed in release 5.2.4?
It appears okay on Windows, but I have not yet tested on Linux.

Read the PR discussion. Recording tracks is a complicated matter and requires some limits. There was discussion, but no good resolution from what I can understand. At the end the PR was closed.

Further testing undertaken; this still seems not to be working in 5.2.4 in Windows and Linux.

Still seems not to be working in 5.6.2 (tested on Windows 10 and Linux).

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.0 - Issue with Tracked Vessels (MMSI Properties)

On my Win 10 the persistence part is working so visible after a O restart. The "always" part is not working. If AIS tracks are not selected the one marked "always" would thus have been printed but it's not.

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.0 - Issue with Tracked Vessels (MMSI Properties)

In SHIPS, MMSI PROPERTIES, I have a number of vessels to be tracked.

I have ticked PERSISTENT and selected ALWAYS TRACK

In previous versions, this would result in tracks automatically being recorded and displayed for the selected vessels. This hasn't now worked for several versions.

I only use this feature on my Linux machine - anyone know where I can download an old version where this works, or will I need to compile an old version from GIT?
