Opencpn 5.0 with Ubuntu 20.04 - problems on View

Hi to everybody,
I Would need you assistance on the subject; I have two problems:
1) I'm not able to view on the maps any letter /name of ports and so on; all the User Standards Object are flagged as well as "Display" "CHart texts" and "chart detail"
2) Under Chart / Chart files when I select a directory, the description desaper I suppose because of become white as the background: I've tried to change all the character color but with no results

At the end I deem it is a problem of view; could you please help me ?

Thank you very much and fairwind !

Have you tried pushing "T" (shortcut for "national text on chart")?

See screenshot, menu Charts / Vector Chart Display / colums on the left side.
With "T" you can toggle them on and off.

To learn the shortcut keys choose from the Configuration menu:
User Interface / Show Menu Bar

With the menu you can easily click the toggles on and of, but you will see the shortcut keys mentioned beside the commands. When you learn the shortcuts you can disable the menu again for more chart space.

How did you install OpenCPN?
Which package have you used?

There is no official release of OpenCPN 5.0 for 20.04 (focal), there is however a beta release for focal, using this repository:
1:Which display category are you using?

"User Standards Object"... this setting is only working if you use Display Category "User Standard".

No text is available if you use Display Category "Base".

Make sure that "Show Text" is activated, see picture abpve

Also make sure that Options->Charts->Vector Chart Display -> "Important text only" is not activated.

2: Please show a screen-picture of your problem.

That's a known bug addressed in 5.1 I think.

Re: Opencpn 5.0 with Ubuntu 20.04 - problems on View

Hello to everybody,
Iíve tried using Xubuntu 20.04 instead of Ubuntu 20.04, always with Opencpn 5.0 but the problem still remain.
As said by Bcn it should be a bug.

elan 333 is correct. This is a bug, at least for Linux using *buntu.
Screenshots below from Kubuntu 20.04 using O with the latest(this morning) code patches from Git.

Exactly how this looks like depends on the window manager used.
Essentially, the background color is missing when the item is marked.
Compare with the same directory listing in the groups tab, where it's shown correctly.

I'm moving this issue to the thread OpenCPN Version 5.1.511 Beta Test, where it belongs.
