OpenCPN 5.0.1 for MacOS Mojave (10.14.5)

Ahoy Mac Users...

We have prepared an interim Release of OpenCPN to correct some display problems arising after updating to MacOS Mojave (10.14.5).
This interim Release is called OpenCPN 5.0.1, and is available at the following link.

http://download.opencpn.org/5.0.1/Op....1+0266678.dmg

We plan to do some minimal testing of 5.0.1 for MacOS before publishing to the general OpenCPN download site. We would appreciate feedback from Mac users here regarding their observations and experiences with 5.0.1.

Thanks for your help, and good Luck
Dave

Re: OpenCPN 5.0.1 for MacOS Mojave (10.14.5)

The window sizing error seems to be fixed now. Obviously you have patched wxWidgets.
But why you keep all dylibs in Contents/MacOS/ and not in Contents/Frameworks/ as it is good practise for macOS software bundles? And why you have symlinks there for libwx dylibs?
The missing developer certificate might be more problematic in next macOS Catalina.

Appears to work as intended for me (on a 2014 Macbook Pro running 10.14.5). Thank you for providing this update!

Have a look at the manual, section Keyboard Shortcuts:
Alt + "+" for fine scale zooming in
Alt + "-" for fine scale zooming out

It works for mine MBP. Might be your keys are configured with a special settings. Look at the Mac settings /Keyboard/Shortcuts/

Also these fine zooming keys are not step by step but for fine zooming only. To zoom a whole step take the "+" or "-" key.

Just checked with old version 4.8.8: There is no difference between 4.8.8 and 5.0.1.

The symptoms are the same whether with keyboard shortcuts or zoom keys. Can it be with the French version of MAC OS?

The problem is the same by disabling the directory of kap cards. There is a zoom problem, maybe with the system version in French. It's not a big deal since 4.88 works very well without this problem. I will wait for a more stable version of the V5.

Re: OpenCPN 5.0.1 for MacOS Mojave (10.14.5)

Thanks Dave,

This also restores the functionality of the Navico/Garmin radar plugin which had drawing issues with the final 5.0.0 release on Mojave as well.

You do need to use release 5.0.1 of the plugin, not one of the later beta releases: https://github.com/opencpn-radar-pi/...ses/tag/v5.0.1
