Hi from Lisbon
ANC (Associação Nacional de Cruzeiros) Lisbon
Portugal has carried out a trial of
OpenCPN by installing and manipulating 10
ENC S-63
charts from Nazaré to Sines including Lisbon/Tagus entrance and the estuary with following permits:
User
permit, finger print and Install
Permit generated at
o-charts. Total cost 15,38 EUR.
Charts were kindly received free from UKHO for a 3 months trial in ANC.
HW used was:
Acer Aspire Switch 11
>Intel Atom Z3745 Quad
Core 1,33 GHz Memory 2 GB 64 Flash Memory
> Windows 8.1.
> Cost 233,99 EUR
SW:
OpenCPN version 4.2.0 with plug-in S-63 version 1.4.
Trial worked beautifully. However it has not been possible to remove the configuration of Mariner’s Standard used wiyh CM93_2011 and pan charts had to be done manually as well as inserting details like buoys, soundings, etc.
We have decided not to reload OpenCPN what might have resolved these issues at probably the expense of having to reinsert all permits and reload directory Root_ENC, what was a long process.
Tests continued with
installation of updates WK 08. UKHo application was downloaded and installed without difficulties and update concluded successfully. However WK 08 did not include any update to the charts used and so the UKHO application indicated 0 bytes downloaded.
Congratulations to OpenCPN developers!
