OpenCPN 3.2.0 / Raymarine Pilot

Hi,
Here's how to connect a Raymarine ST 6002, SPX 30 pilot, with Opencpcn 3.2.0, with new NMEA sentences.

Re: OPENCPN 3.2.0 / RAYMARINE PILOT

Hi, I don't know if you were just posting this or if it is in response to my earlier question. Thanks for the info, but I have already done all this and it does not work.

This is a "clean machine" install - my friends have never had OpenCPN on their PCs before. I see $GP, $AI and $AP (Mag heading from the ST6002) sentences in the NMEA stream but no $EC or $PG, in particular the XTE and APB stuff from the route to the autopilot and get "no data" at the AP when I press track.

Has anyone installed 3.2 on a new machine, not upgraded an existing install?

Merci bien!

There is a bug:
it works after activating on MaxSea.
At the moment I do not know why.

OK, Thanks for that. I'll keep a watch on the forum for any further info/bugfix.

Cheers.

Folks...

We need to see a screenshot of the OCPN NMEA debug window, while a GPS is connected and a route is active.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OPENCPN 3.2.0 / RAYMARINE PILOT

I can't record it as it works on my system ($PGXTE etc. being sent) and I'm still using 3.02 as I'm out on the boat. My friends are overnighting from Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta, I can email them to get a screenshot to me and I'll post it - will probably take a couple of days, though.

Cheers.

There is no need to make thread titles bold and capital... IMHO.

Re: OPENCPN 3.2.0 / RAYMARINE PILOT

Nevermind....

I do not understand your comment regarding Maxsea...
Please start from scratch and leave Maxsea out of the picture, to avoid confusion.

However, it appears that OpenCPN connections are not set up properly, or that an OpenCPN route is not active.

Why are $IIRMB messages coming in on COM10? Who is creating them? Not OpenCPN...

Looks like some kind of loop-back situation.

Please describe again your port and instrument setup.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OPENCPN 3.2.0 / RAYMARINE PILOT

I can not send tracking information to the driver path: track = no data
I could do with version 3.1.1206
Now to send the information to the pilot:
I open MaxSea I activate a route, I activate the driver "track" and it works.
MaxSea I close, I open OpenCPN, I activate a route, I turn on the track next driver = WP and it works.

The port is identical
The port configuration is identical on both software

The description of the configuration and materials are there:

Pratiques et Techniques de la Plaisance

Thanks
