Hello all and Thank you in Advance,

I have recently dowloaded OpenCPN and CM93 vector charts with a download size of 1.4gb and all sections split into 3 folders. It seems to work when i open up the chart folders in openCPN (all in one main folder) but when I go to zoom in I will not get any detail outside of about 5 miles or so off the coast and no detail at all in areas of water like the chesapeake bay or exuma sound etc. while large light houses are listed. with there beacon sectors.

I have downloaded several versions to no avail as well as messed around with all the settings.

CM93 does not provide detail for every centimetre of coastline. In many parts of the world, you'll get comprehensive detail including water depth for say 5 miles around a big port and then nothing but the coastline with occasional beacons elsewhere. Check out say the Ionian islands in Greece and you'll see large areas that are relatively uncharted. Still, how much did you pay for the charts?

I can assure dlymn that the Chesapeake Bay has comprehensive detail available.

tchiffriller, have you checked the VIEW menu to make sure the ENC text, soundings, etc are checked to show? If that wasn't it, in the preferences>charts>vector charts display, choose "All" and see if stuff shows. Also in that preference is a slider to show more or less detail. You can try moving that around for more/less detail.

Hello thank you for you replys, and yes I have tried all of these still with no good results.

Do you think I could have uploaded the files wrong to Open CPN?

Or do you think I got a bad set of files?

CM93_May2009 is the name of the file

thanks again cant wait to get this software working!!
