Open cpn, GPS Garmin158i: Route Download and Upload to & from.

Have been battling for days trying to download an Open cpn route to my Garmin GPS158i without success. Ship symbol ops OK on the Open cpn using Garmin's NMEA/NMEA setting. Tried following the advice on the huge Opencpn help pages (spread sheet) but I must be omitting something somewhere. Any help much appreciated.

Have you tried uploading via garmin comm settings?

In the end I gave up trying to send routes directly from OpenCPN to my Garmin GPSMap 4010. I had only succeeded in sending waypoints.

I now open a route exported from OpenCPN in EasyGPS and send it from EasyGPS to the Garmin, using Garmin 72 settings.
