Open CPN Bahamian Charts

Hello All....new to OpenCPN.....cant seem to find a source for Bahamian Charts.....any help appreciated.

I don't know of any source for Bahamas only charts that will run on OpenCPN. Assume you have researched and heard that by far the best charts for the Bahamas are the Explorer chart series. Unfortunately the only electronic format they are currently released on are Jeppeson format on chips or cards.

I have OpenCPN running but my upcoming trip to the Bahamas will be using the Explorer chart books and a Garmin plotter.

Don't forget that in the Bahamas even with the best charts your best tool is a sharp eye and good light, especially when you are in shallows or close to shore.

The only available modern charts that I know off are the "nv-charts".
While nv-charts generally has a good reputation, I have seen very little feedback on their Bahamas packages. Maybe someone has tried them ???
They should be in kap format and be usable on all platforms that OpenCPN supports. You may need windows to unpack them.

Thanks.....I did not think there were any good Bahamian charts available for Open CPN....this confirms it......I use Garmin's "Blue Charts" and use NV's as well.....NV Ok.....Garmin's are great......just trying to limit my devices to look at (have a Ray Marine Plotter)
