OPEN CPN & ENC Charts Question

Hi

I have searched and searched the forum for an answer to my question??

Open CPN, beta version, same issue with 3.0.2, Win7.
I have been using OPEN CPN with C93 charts for a number of years and have been very happy with it.

I recently added a number of Noaa ENC charts of FL and the SE USA. For some reason when I have these ENC charts selected I get a " U " symbol plastered all over the chart. With CM93 charts selected, no symbol??

I assume that it is some sort of general warning but I have been unable to find the meaning???

Any suggestions

Tom

Re: OPEN CPN & ENC Charts Question

If you read the FAQ, FAQ | Official OpenCPN Homepage you will find an explanation for the "U":s.

To get rid of them untick the "Meta objects" in the Toolbox vector tab.
In the latest beta, untick Options->Charts->Vector Charts->Chart Information Objects.

The NOAA:s ENC charts are made to an international standard, while nobody knows exactly how and why items or properties, appear or disappear in CM93.

Re: OPEN CPN & ENC Charts Question

HI Thanks for the reply.

With the new BETA version I see no "META Objects" option?

In Mariners Standard option setting, un-selecting the "Quality of Data" removes the "U" from the display.

That works for me!

Thanks Tom
