On Mac, bottom of chart is all black

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest production version of OpenCPN on my Mac (Mojave 10.14.5, MacPro, Mid 2014, 16gig ram) but both times, the bottom 20% of the chart shows up as black. There are tide indicators appearing above the black that seem out of context with the visible part of the chart showing. Am I special, or does it just not work at all on this OS?

Re: On Mac, bottom of chart is all black

This is a known issue with Mojave 10.14.5
Mojave 10.14.4 was ok still.

Window resize will bring up something like you show, split screen as well.

On full screen as in your case I achieve a "normal" screen usually after some 2 or 3 "close/restart OpenCPN" cycles.

There will be a service release to resolve the point for macOS

The OpenCPN developers are still unsure wether they use the beta version of wxWidgets 3.1.3 where the bug is fixed or make an own version of wxWidgets. Sadly wxWidgets libraries are the base for OpenCPN and not very stable for macOS. To use the actual version of OpenCPN without that bug you can switch off OpenGL, however there are lots of other bugs as well in the macOS version.
