oeSENC: Error on Fingerprint file creation

Hello,

I use a netbook Samsung NC10 with Windows XP SP3 (French) and OpenCPN 4.6.1
The last oeSENC plugin (version 1.2) is installed.
The "Create System Identifier file" display a windows (oeserverd.exe title) with the error message "oeserverd.exe a rencontré un problème..." (problem occured...) and the Fingerprint file is not created.


Some body has a idea ?

We have seen Windows system with broken internal services which will not allow to identify the individual system correctly.

It has been possible to repair the Windows install.
If you want to try the recovery way, contact o-charts.

Win XP SP3 is quite old, but this should not be the reason.
There are some more installs running without problems.

I use Windows XP home edition french.

XP Home can be a problem.

We need that the Windows Management Interface service WMI is running.
It can be either missing, not started or broken. Can happen over the years.

WMI service is up and running.
I have stopped this service, renamed the repository directory and restarted the service.
... And the same problem occur !

Do you have perhaps some viruschecker program running?
And if this is not the case, please submit your OpenCPN log-file to o-charts to be able to have a look at it.

Hello folks,

Same problem for me, but on Xubuntu.
Downloaded charts after generating FingerPrint, but when installing charts in OpenCPN, error message : key not valid.
If I check in my Charts directory the Chartinfo.txt, key is the same as indicated in error message.
Can you tell me which file I have to send to you for analyze?

The problem of Nautile is solved after re-installation of OpenCPN.

Nautile is with W 7.

Hi everybody,
Some news from O-Charts :
I'm using Linux Xubuntu 16.04 and OpenCPN latest version.
When generating FingerPrint, I was using my GSM modem and my computer connected on it.
All the process to validate was made on line by my GSM and it worked fine, but when using OpenCPN off line, FingerPrint was NOT valid.
They have send another Fingerprint but I validate it on line again...
From O-Charts, the problem is :
What you shall do is to generate a fpr when not connected and use this fingerprint to get a new chart set that will work.
This is the major problem encounteredby users, both on Windows"xx" and Linux OS.
Waiting for better instructions and clarified procedure to generate fpr and use charts set off line.
