Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
[QUOTE=jongough;2075592]Gilletarom,
When you left OCPN running and the OD toolbar being displayed, had you selected a tool to draw with and not used it, or did you just have the toolbar set to show always?
[/QUOTE)
- I used "Whilst draw"
- I never leave OpenCPN without close the window OD tools.
-
I do not know if I selected a tool without having used before using Firefox and / or Thunderbird.

- The system, i.E; W8.1, was not frozen ... Just OD tools.
Quote:
When the system was 'frozen' did you try left clicking on OCPN to ensure it was selected and then right clicking on OCPN or pressing the Esc button? I did notice during my testing that if I went to another application I had to sometimes positively select OCPN before mouse clicks/keyboard input ended up going to it. This required clicking on the chart screen at times. This seemed to be an application focus issue, but I never really investigated it too far as I was more concerned with getting OD to actually work.

- I do not remember anymore

Now that we know you have had the problem can you just keep on using OCPN and OD as 'normal', .....
As for the crash on startup of OD, ....

If the phenomenon occurs, I try to see the status of RAM and file status. But from experience it does not occur systematically. So can someone else he will speak before me.
Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
hello JonGough,
With Nevermind, and Yoruck, we finished translating the language file for OD. I just try to send this new version on crowdin.
It seems that it does not work. In the previous version, there were two untranslated items. In the new version, all items are translated. Or both untranslated items still appear untranslated ...
So attached, here is the final version of the language file in French. To you integrate it into your latest OD and put online on the Crowdin.
Thank you in advance. Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Hello JonGough
I just read your comment here:
FS#2031 : Window "Boundary properties"
Thank you for your prompt consideration of my request.
That said, you write that you put a binary version for Windows. I looked here:
https://github.com/jongough/ocpn_draw_pi
Sorry but I did not find the file "opencpn_draw_pi.exe". ???
In addition, for information, I will be traveling for ten days and I will not have a good web access.
Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Gilletarom,
Patch 1.0.12 contains your updated translation, thanks.
Are there still items that are not translated correctly? I am not quite sure I understand your 2nd paragraph as you say it does not work then you say all items are translated. Can you tell me which items are not working for translation?
Thanks
Jon

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Hello JonGough,
Before leaving, quick installation. It works. No crash.
The problem of space to write the words "Extérieur" and "Intérieur" is not solved. See the screenshot. The "r" are not displayed. This can be as troublesome in other languages. (first screen copy)
Here a second screen copy of crowdin. You can see that two items are not trantaled : OD and WD. But it seem that all other items are correctly translated.

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Gilletarom,
I have just tried OD 1.0.12 in French at 800x600 and 1280x1024 and do not seem to have the issue you are seeing with truncation of the boundary type. See the attachments. Are you sure you are using the latest OD and if so, what screen resolution are you using and are you using any scaling of any type?
I am not sure there are translations for OD and WD as they stand for ocpn_draw_pi and Watchdog_pi and are used in the table on the "options/plugins/OCPN Draw/Properties/Help" for the interactions of OD and WD.
Thanks
Jon

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Hello Jon,
Thank you for your efforts in developing this plug-in. It is the first time position fixed by multiple ranges is practicable in OpenCPN.
As a seafarer, we are using multiple ranges from radar to fix a ship position. It can be considered as one of the most reliable way in fixing position on ships. In the past, it was possible in OpenCPN with the help of a GPX utility and the Chart Work family of programs. However, it uses was terrible. The EBL function in your plug-in has make it practicable.
I would like to suggest to add a little enhancement to your EBL function to make it more user friendly.
The following was observed In 1.0.9:
We can pick a new start point of a EBL to a land reference that range was taken. There were bearing and range readings shown in a yellow box while dragging the start point.
Once the start point was placed on a reference, the EBL point together with the range circle can then be adjusted to whatever range that has been measured off the new start point. However, there was no more yellow box showing bearing and range readings from the start point while the EBL point was being dragging. Bearing and range readings are only show after a move is completed. In short, it was only possible to guess if the range is right while dragging the EBL point. It was not possible to know if a distance is right before the move EBL point action was completed.
It will be much usable if the bearing and range readings for start to end points as well as end to start points can be shown continuously while moving the point depends on which was selected.
Best regards,
Bruce

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Hi Jon,
The issue was observed if OPENGL was NOT used!
As well, I tried to manually change the values of EBL but it does not work at all.
Best regards,
Bruce

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Bruce,
Patch 1.0.14 fixes this issue. You should see a highlight box with the bearing and length information in it when moving either point of the EBL.
You can find a windows installable either in git or in dropbox here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sdvk97hw0v...win32.exe?dl=0

Jon

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
Gilletarom,
Yep, just got back from a relaxing 3 weeks on the boat not doing too much. It gave me an opportunity to test out the Raspberry PI 2 as a navigation computer and to see if OD actually worked as expected (of course I did find an error which 1.0.14 fixes!). It also highlighted that there is still a little bit of work needed for the PI to make it easier for users, but that was part of the exercise.
Regards
Jon

Re: ocpn_draw_pi now available
hello JonGough,
Oups ... Sorry, my previous post was bad. There is no bug. But my last french language file was wrong.
Please accept my apologies for this error.
It is necessary to change the french file by the one joined here.
