do have a version of wxWidgets 3.0.2 but I only have VS 2017 and this version of widgets does not compile with this version of VS.
Ok, I understand, the computer gets ballsed up!

I will compile it now.

I like the EBL Move OD point with Perpendicular checked! Works nicely too.

I had some questions about appveyor too. Perhaps did-g can help us understand more. I wonder what bdbcat would say about group Opencpn access. I'm going to move slowly on this, but it might be a great help in creating packages for windows.

If you hold the Ctrl+Shift key at the same time and then move the EBL end point it will maintain its angle and just move the end point closer or further away from the start point. Hope this is what you wanted.
Perfect, it works great.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Rick,
The angles should be the same, but over large distances there will be divergence due to the projection of the chart. The PIL Offset line is worked out where is leaves the screen and this could cause a slight difference in angles.

Works fine, I have a question about seeing a 1 degree difference between the centerline and the offset lines sometimes. Also sometimes the graphic lines don't appear to be parallel, why might that be happening? Does it have something to do with the length of these lines and great circle?
The PIL works the same as an EBL (it is using the EBL class under the covers), so you detach and reattach the same way, just right click on the PIL centre line (control line) and select either 'Centre on moving boat' or 'Move start point to boat lat/lon'

Also is there a way to attach it to the boat again?
If you can identify what you did leading up to the loss of right click access that would be good. If you move the mouse over the line and a rollover popup does not show try moving the mouse to near where the line was before, does it show up then? If this is the case then something is causing the selection process not to be updated.

I am thinking about what to do with the DR capability, it seems a bit of an anachronism in this plugin. To make it usable I would have thought it may need to be able to generate a route from the DR. Perhaps this is something for the new version (currently started work on OD 1.5, importing CSV files for boundaries).

You have expand this a lot and it is more flexible.

I would really like to have a right click selection that would allow a "Rotate around the boat" that would allow the end point to be moved anywhere with respect to the boat and the current distance/time settings would stay the same.

I would also really like a "Rubberband from boat" feature that would allow placement of the end point anywhere, and the distance would be divided up evenly and the time and distance recalculated in the properties window. This would be more graphic use and probably lead to greater use of this feature.
Yes, then I can try and see if it will work with VS 2017

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi,
It looks like you may be missing the icon files. Have a look in the opencpn.log file and see if there is any mention of that in there.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon, I put it as pre-release ocpn_draw_1.4.4001
Hope that is ok.
https://github.com/rgleason/ocpn_dra.../tag/v1.4.4001

The icons look ok to me. Hope it is not like Hakan's.
I did a full clone this time and pushed to my old github repos so it is current now too.

Jon..
No, nothing from OD in the log file.
I pulled from master a hour ago and updated OD by the newly built package. Then all icon files are supposed to be installed as well?
Four .lib files are updated as well.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Rick,
I have uploaded this on my git repository and created a 1.4.40 pre-release. I have also installed it on a win 7 machine with OCPN 4.8.0 and it works fine. All the icons appear OK.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon..

More about my weird control box icons:
Win10, VS2013 build
The icons are there although very small. Attached shot shows the small icons and the pointer roll over text. Once I've succeed to hit an icon the controls are working. Which parameter do you use to control the icon size?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hakan, I had the exact same problem, and then got busy and sort of left it.
Then I compiled ocpn_draw using wxWigets 3.0.2 with new code from jon and the problem was solved.

https://github.com/rgleason/ocpn_draw_pi/releases

Are you perchance using wxWidgets 3.0.3 like Jon?

Did you try my beta release by any chance?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hello Jon, Hello RGleason,

Since a few days, every time I change my language, from French to English or from English to French, OCPN 48 crash.
I reported phenomenon on the site of WR.

I just uninstall Draw version 1.424 and I tried again to change language. No crash. It is therefore possible that Draw is responsible for the phenomenon.

I will install the version that RGleason offers (with wxWigets 3.0.2) and do some new tests.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon..
what I could find out the icon size depends on OCPN UI>tools slider setting.
double GetOCPNGUIToolScaleFactor_PlugIn()
{ return g_Platform->GetToolbarScaleFactor(g_GUIScaleFactor);
But even if the slider is set to "4" the sizing problem persists.

No I haven't. I could but the goal here would be to solve a "normal user" build?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

hello JonGough,

1° With RGleason version, no crash with OCPN 4.8 when I change language.

2° Same problem than Hakkan with the Draw toolbar. Icons are invisible. See screenshot.

3 ° If I use the last tool that was used with DRAW previously, ie "Boundary", I have a strange phenomenon. The mark icon appears and then enlarged to the point of occupying a large part of the screen. See screenshot.

Hakan, Suit yourself. I have no idea what you mean by "normal user build"

I think Jon's version may be using 3.03, but I did leave a zipped copy of wxWidgets 3.0.2 750 mbb up on my onedrive for him. Don't know if he got it. I'd like to delete if if he has.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Rick,
I have copied your zip files, thanks. But trying to use it I get lots of warnings and a few errors, I am chasing them down. It appears that VS 2017 and wxWidgets 3.0.2 don't get along very well.

Still fighting with getting really working images (virtual windows 7 & 10 with VS 2017 & 2015) so it is taking longer than normal to sort out some of the issues.

Regards
Jon
