O-charts not displayed correctly sometimes

When switching between mbiltes and o-charts it sometimes draws the 3m curve with loss of detail where gaps between two shallows gets merged into one, see attachments. If I zoom out a bit and then zoom it it displays the correct details. That loss of detail not because of the zoom level, I can zoom out substantially and still have the correct details.

Shallow depth at 3m
Safety depth at 3m
Deep depth at 6m

Hakan...

You seem to be comparing different charts (which you can see in the rectangles on the bottom of the screen).

If you want the more detailed charts to kick in earlier consistently, change the vector chart zoom/scale weighting setting in Display->Advanced.

The point is that it should show the same level of details when you zoom to a certain scale each time and not randomly show more or less details.

Re: O-charts not displayed correctly sometimes

That kind of depends how you get to the situation on the screen, the quilting algorithm is pretty compex to provide acceptable results with very different chartsets available covering different parts of the world, so tuning it to bring exactly what you think it should do in your situation is very probably going to cause problems with different chartsets.

Håkan..
- As Nohal says shifting between different chart families, mbtiles/BSB/ENC, may need a zoom action to get to previous used chart zoom level.
- Your two pictures are using different o-chart files, see the chart bars. I don't know from what date but when I view Midsommarfjärden using updated charts from last week the difference you have are not present here.

Håkan

BTW: I suppose you're using "Display category - All"?

Re: O-charts not displayed correctly sometimes

Hi,
I used the "Display category - All" but it is very hard to reproduce the error. It was probably a combination of messing around with a lot of mbtiles in opencpn and some bad luck.

There is as well the short-cut "d" for the zoom/detail slider, you can use to finetune how much detail is shown when zooming in.

An answer to the impossible task to have one setting for all the different types of vector charts and hydrographers with different ideas which detail shall show up or disappear at a certain scale.
