My concern is that someone might select a regional chart catalog, such as all of California, and after ticking every box they could end up with the mistaken impression that they now have a complete portfolio.

Ideally they would review the charts as part of good planning practice, but 1) that doesn't always happen and 2) someone seeing a small scale chart may not realize more detailed data exists for an area.

Well don't you think NOAA should have thought of this? Maybe they should all just be retired?

All the NOAA MBTiles are back online. It appears they have transitioned to Vector Charts as MBTiles instead of the old Rasters.

I tried to send Nohal a pull request on GitHub with some changes to include the whole chart catalog in the MBTiles section. Let me know if that did/didn't work.
