No GPS data version 4.0.0 - Windows 8.1

G'day.
I can't get GPS data from a network MIFI port 2947. Tried every port and protocol combination. Any suggestion?

What is the source of GPS data on the network? Is it UDP or TCP? Do you have any network monitoring tools like Wireshark available?

I installed Wireshark and as far as I can see, the device on the network is sending TCP data.

A post of a screenshot of the com settings would be helpful perhaps.

And are there other processes listening to this TCP port?

Hi. I don't know the tool or not much about protocol analysis, but I din't see any number in the datagrams that corresponds to my long and lat coming from my Novatel Wireless model MIFI 5792. I know however that it has a GPS chip which can transmit the GPS position to a connected device. The Novatel MIFI is not currently connected to a cellular network.

Good news folks. I opened up my firewall for OpenCPN and Bingo, I got a position. Thank you all for your help. Looking forward to play with this nav software.
