Nmea0183 wpt & rte

Can anyone confirm that these sentences work?,-- sorry it is RTE & WPL (otherwise I need to test them.)

https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...nmea_sentences

xxRTE - Routes. Used to send routes and waypoints up to a GPS receiver.OpenCPN does not process these sentences as input.

xxWPL - Waypoint Location Used to send routes and waypoints up to a GPS receiver. OpenCPN does not process these sentences as input.

It appears that WPL works but RTE does not.

Also we want Opencpn to recieve RTE and WPL!

Hi, we may have been here before;

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...in-128119.html

Depending on the GPS, certain Garmins do not handle RTE. But not quite sure what you are asking, are you trying to send a route to OCPN?

Re: Nmea0183 wpt & rte

Dear Peter,

Thank you, I had not seen that thread.
1. It appears that RTE generally works going out, depending on the device receiving.
2. RTE going into OpenCPN does not work.

Is this correct as far as you know?

Re: Nmea0183 wpt & rte

Thanks Peter,
I had not seen that thread.

It appears RTE works going out, depending on the device receiving the RTE sentence.

Does the RTE sentence work the other way? -going into Opencpn?

I suppose I should just test it with some RTE sentences.
