The ikommunicate is supposed to transmit nmea-0183-over-tcp/udp if the (off by default) checkboxes which conachair posted images to (full manual here) are checked. Do I have one? No not yet (having previously dogfooded my own hackery, but since installing a new seatalk ng network this weekend I'm re-considering it), but this was a specific point I asked Paul Sumpner of Digital Yacht about for my blog post on ikommunicate last year:

If Gerhard has an ikommunicate and after reading the manual and performing the appropriate set-up it isn't relaying nmea-0183 over IP perhaps there is a defect in his unit?
