You did follow the manual?
- S-63 UserPermit in place
- OpenCPN InstallPermit in place
- Install Cell Permits (i.e. Permit.txt)
- Install cells

Any messages?
No, everything seems to have gone normally.

But, I tried to declare the charts in "Options/Charts/Folder". I updated the database, everything seems to be going well. But, no charts display when I center the maps area on NZ.

I'll work on it again, especially since I "tinkered" based on my "experience" with OpenCPN rather than following the manual.

But what I did looks like what you write above.

The S63 folder will appear in Options|Charts|Chart Files by installing the cells. No need to do that manually.

If this does not happen, you missed something in between.

Ok, you say there is no need to do a manual declaration. But still, this method should work if you then ask to rebuild the database, which I had obviously done.

Re: New Zealand: ENC now in S-63 format for free

For those looking for New Zealand Charts in addition to those discussed above, TheChartLocker.com now has ArcGIS, Bing Satellite, Google Satellite and Navionics MBTiles for the entire country.

Cheers,
Bruce
