The problem is that GRIB plugin is not necessarilly activated/present and even if it is, I'm not sure I can easily get this configuration from it. I will have a look anyway but with small hope.
To minimize error risk, I will print the time zone used in the report window.

Have you right clicked on the map and selected "Weather forecast" in the context menu ?

Works with W7 but not on RPI 3 Debian buster.
Nothing happens on right click.

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

I prepared version 0.5 of the plugin :
https://github.com/Rodemfr/meteovach...eleases/latest
Main fixes concern handling of time zones and networking improvements.
I also removed Raspberry binaries since they are not working. I have to order one RPi to debug the issue.
Thanks to all of those who helped testing it.
Ronan.

Thank you Ronan,

I find this a really useful plugin. It is so straightforward and simple (wich is meant as a compliment!) that it doesn't even need a manual. Good job!

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

Thanks Roel,

That's exactly what it has been created for : simplicity. I needed something like that for my small coastal navigations...

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

Thank you Ronan, for customizing the display in the metric system.
Works great!

ideas for improvement
1. Do I need a plugin icon in the toolbar? The plugin window can always be opened via the context menu. I think the icon only takes up space on the toolbar.
2. Is it possible to add graphical symbols for the weather forecast? https://www.flaticon.com/packs/weather-forecast

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

Hi Baikal,

Thanks for the feedback.

I will add an option in preference panel to remove the toolbar icon. Quick and easy, you will have it soon.

For the graphical display, I have to decide how I could improve this area. There are several options : icons as you propose, colors depending on wind speed/temperature/precipitations, etc. I'm not sure of the direction I want to take right now. What is sure is that it will not come at short term because I currently working at completely rewriting the server side which is in an ugly state. The plan is to clean it up, to put it on Github and to add as much data models as possible. I'm especially interested at adding local models for coastal navigation.

BR,

Ronan.

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

traditional display of the weather forecast symbol for the current day based on cloudiness and precipitation, if the wind is strong then the storm icon.
If icons will be needed, let me know in PM, I will prepare the necessary in SVG

That is OK for me

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

Hello.
It's a good plugin, I can only confirm it's working on W10.

A suggestion perhaps: in addition to a tabular view, with icons, is there an interest for showing the values with a graph?

This is (if right) what is done by qtVLM.
It's another way to get faster an idea bout the trend.
Thanks again for the development
Regards
Didier

Re: New weather plugin for OpenCPN : MeteoVache

Good idea!
But why not integrate all this into the GRIB plugin !?
There is an excellent weather forecast table that you can develop! Why produce a bunch of clones with apparent modifications.
Here take an example https://youtu.be/KyELInZruVs?t=219
