Network slows when using OpenCPN

Has anyone had trouble with their internet connection dramatically slowing when OpenCPN is in the background? I'm not even using it when checking the internet speed with speedtest.net. When OpenCPN is closed, I am getting speeds greater than 50 Mbps; then if I start OpenCPN, the speed drops below 10. Actually, the speed test will initially show around 17 Mbps, then after about 5 sec, it steps down to 6 or so. I tried removing all the MBTILES files from my chart directory and turning off the OpenGL option, but these changes don't fix it. I am out of ideas. I am using version 5.0.0+9065270, Windows 10, with 8 GB of RAM.

What are your connections in OpenCPN? Do you have any TCP/UDP data connections that may be overwhelming your local network?

Yep, I had a connection enabled for a USB GPS device that I don't actually have plugged in right now. When I disable it, the network speed picks back up to where it should be. Thanks.
