Need compatibility packet for OpenGL?

A posting from the OpenCPN Users group on Facebook:

"Seems like the processor in Surface Pro X is not supporting Open GL directly but after some research I found out that there is a combability packet for Open CL and Open GL to be downloaded from Microsoft Store. After installing it and again activated the Open GL in OpenCpn it now works, and the interference has disappeared!"

Anyone have information about the need to do this?

Re: Need compatibility packet for OpenGL?

Hello,

I agree, partially.

Indeed, I have display problems (for example: the arrows of the OTcurrent plugin are not displayed correctly - each one looks like a big "pie" - when OpenGL is activated).

By installing this compatibility module from the Microsoft Store on my PC at home, this problem has disappeared, the current arrows are displayed correctly.

On the other hand, the problem remains total on my PC on the boat (a CF33 toughbook).

If someone has a solution, I will be very happy...

I correct...

After writing these lines, I went back to the boat PC, uninstalled then reinstalled OTcurrent and now the current arrows are displayed correctly...

Note, when you install this OpenCL/OpenGL module from the Microsoft store, it is installed on all the PCs declared under the same login in the store.
No need to try to re-install it on the other PCs, this is done automatically.
