mm2 to kap file conversion

Is there any way to convert Mapmedia mm2 files to any standard formats readable by OpenCPN ? I'm trying to switch from Maxsea/OpenCPN to OpenCPN only and I have a big collection of these charts.

I also have a lot invested in map media charts and would love to converts them into an OpenCPN compatible format, any ideas? I was able to convert my MaxSea tracks using software from Paul Higgins, thanks Paul :-)

Re: mm2 to kap file conversion

Mapmedia's .mm2 (and later .mm3) charts are heavily encrypted, as opposed to its former .map format. If anyone has managed to crack the coding method, it a well kept secret. On top of that, Maxsea has proved ready in the past to sue users of illegal versions of its app, and did so. I guess they also would for their chart formats...

I understand but I own the mm2 charts I want to convert to OpenCPN compatible format and have the unlock codes to prove it so I would not be using pirated charts

Using the charts you legally own outside maxsea imply having had access to some app (or information) based on cracking, clearly illegal...

Who implied access to some app based on cracking? I also own MaxSea version 11 which was purchased and I have the receipts to prove that. So now I hope you understand I own MaxSea and I purchased map media charts as time when by and I changed sailing ares I purchased more map media areas. Nothing pirated, nothing cracked! I just want to view my bloody charts using OpenCPN.
