Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Your remark make sense, it's better to be in Opencpn's project if I want a maximum number of translations...

@corsair63 : I found the issue -> It's working fine now. Thanks again for the work

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

It is the latest version. It work for me, not for you. There must be still something wrong in the delivery. I will dive again into it.
You are using Linux ?

EDIT : just for confirmation -> which language do you select in the preference menu of OpenCPN

Ronan...

Is https://github.com/Rodemfr/meteovach...eovache_pi.pot up to date so that we can merge it to the main Crowdin project?

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

I've done a quick trick, let's say, I exchanged language to French, and after click in OK I got a marvellous grease lighten program quit, re-started program and French language active, seen that plugin is complete in French with all messages also and included messages in the plugin manager in French too.
exchanged program to Spanish, same behaviour, after click in OK, immediate quit of program, showing that is being created one log (or similar).
re-started program and user interface in Spanish, but MeteoVache same appearance than my last screenshots.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Are you selecting "Espanol" in the langage preferences or another flavor of Spanish ?

For the crash, I have currently a ticket open for crashes on exit of the plugin, this might be related.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Found the trick of it.

Tablet with win 11 Pro ARM64
the language file is not copied to:

C:\Users\%Userprofile%\AppData\Local\opencpn\share \locale\es_ES\LC_MESSAGES

so I took the tar.gz file and manually unzipped in that folder the correspondent language file.

went to OCPN plugins and also click on "Reinstall" Apply, ok, and worked fine by now, as attached

EDIT: Double check in PC with windows 11 Pro x64
dived in above folder and language file not present.
done a reinstall plugin and the language file properly copied to the folder and translation working fine.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Well done. On my side the file is properly copied !? I will check if there are some missing information somewhere in my package...

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

seems to be a problem with some accents.

should be "Sá" and is displayed "S£" but some other accent words don't see any fault.

.....
And it's all the more necessary since it's where Dave will look for all the translations when he decides to integrate them into a new version of OpenCPN.

Knowing that Dave does this rarely, I have deduced for a long time that it takes time .... And everyone knows it "Time is money"!

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

I observe the same. It looks like a mismatch between the charset encoding of the translation and the actual encoding of the font. I entered a ticket on Github.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Hello RodemFr

I made the Italian translation on your personal crowdin.

Then, using a "homemade" DIY, I introduced the ".mo" in the OpenCPN installation and obtained the display of data for a point on the chart.

Overall it works... See the screenshot.

Note : "Pluie" is in french", so ????

Classic problem:

From one language to another, the lengths of items are variable. And translations in Italian, as in French, are, on average, longer than English. Other languages will have the same problem to solve.

In short, we will have to improve something:
- Either I shorten some Italian translations, by tinkering,
- Either you find a solution in the code to take into account the possible length of the translations, for all languages.

For me, the second idea is best.
