Menu Bar Issue

I am new to this program.
Having an issue with the Menu Bar. I cannot get it to appear.
The manual reads: "the Menu Bar can be shown temporarily by using the hot-key “Alt”"I select the “Alt” key and the curser, when the tool bar is active, turn to a green arrow. When selected again, goes back to normal. No matter what I do, I cannot get the Menu Bar to appear. All other short cuts that utilize the ALT key work fine.
What am I doing wrong?

- version of OpenCPN
- a screenshot perhaps?

What happens if you activate the Menu bar from Options|UserInterface?

You first have to turn the Menubar feature on under Settings Options... I believe thee manual clearly states this. So look there for instructions please.
