Re: Maps for australia
Hi Norton, the official charts can be downloaded here: Australian Hydrographic Service - Product Downloads
But at a price of course.
However you can use the CM 93 charts, which might be older or not up to date, but at very little cost, however I do not know a safe site where there can be downloaded from.
So one will need the S-63 plug-in, the S-63 UserPermit that you get from o-charts.org (read the documentation related to S-63 here in the manual and at the o-charts site please).
With this permit you license the AHS chart sets for your PC..
I found some reasonable ones but cannot remember where I got them from. If you PM me I can give you my address. Mail me a prepaid CD mailer and I will put it on a CD and send to you.

No problems. We have not taken our cat to Lake Macquarie yet, but at the moment she is on the Gold Coast having some work done. We head off to Northern Queensland late April/early May, so will not be back near Sydney till November some time.

Cmap 93 is Ok for most of the Queensland coast, I have used it the full length of QLD across to Darwin and most of Indonesia. I would strongly suggest you look at GE2KAP and produce images for all anchorages. Most of all you do need to keep a good lookout.
