Grib files from zyGrib can be used in grib_pi.

You can save the files wherever you like. You have to first time show the location to grib_pi.

XyGrib files works as well as zyGrib but there is no way to get them with the grib_pi plugin directly. You have to download them by hand with XyGrib.
