Re: Irma is huge (Off topic)

I apologize to my fellow citizens, the Puerto Ricans, for the tepid, late and unorganized response to a continuing disaster. Thankfully the lost souls were low initially, but this disaster is not finished and Puerto Rico must have greater assistance and support now.

Instead of being an example of how Americans can things done and can address and solve problems, and stick together and support each other, it has become a shameful tragedy.

You seem to want to make political hay about this, but by all accounts that I've read, our response to Puerto Rico's hurricane damage has been prompter and more generous than what we've done in Texas OR Florida. In fact, some law enforcement officers in PR have told the media that the Puerto Rican government was delaying on-the-ground food and aid from reaching the people for whom it was intended.

We were all very fortunate with the outcome of Irma. Even the most devastated places could have seen much worse. Let's hope we go more 100 years without another storm like this.
