Internal GPS not connecting

Just purchased a new laptop with what is supposed to have an internal GPS (also has external which works fine) but cannot get the internal one to connect let alone diagnose that it is even installed. Have adjusted the privacy settings to allow but still a no go. Running Windows 10 w/OpenCPN and TZ neither will acquire position if external antennae is disconnected. Any ideas?

Re: Interanal GPS not connecting

The typo in the title is kinda funny, and would suggest a reason for poor signal acquisition!

Sorry but I can't help with your serious question.

I’m also laughing at the title.

Regarding the internal gps, here’s the scoop.

I finally gave up trying with my surface tablet

Re: Internal GPS not connecting

Was it really a typo?

Thanks Sailmonkey, found that as well but so far no luck.

Re: Internal GPS not connecting

So I've downloaded and installed the GEOlocation TCP app, no go without internet. Dove further in and downloaded and installed GPSDirect driver and get nothing. That has revealed it is a Sierra Wireless location sensor.
Kind of pissed this wasn't tested or dealt with prior to shipping.
