Which download of openplotter?
V0. 8 & 0.9 worked straight away for me on a pi3. That was the full V0. 8 image and the V0. 9 noobs. 0.9 is an alpha early release so 0.8 might be a better bet for a working system while they iron out any bugs in 0.9.

Hi,
you can open Synaptic ?
then you can change the OpenCPN server setting.
what does that say for Open CPN ?
after the adres is Ok and activated
do reload on the top settings of Synaptic.
You get an some kind of an error, but that does not matter.
Now go to Seach in Synaptic and choose opencpn. Does search find an OpenCPN version ? Takes some time.
Waiting for your results.
Regards,
Bram

It would be much clearer if you would just give him the correct address instead of all these cryptic instructions about changes from the former incorrect address.

Hi Yes, all done as requested, but nothing appears to be installed in Synaptic. search just puts opencpn name in first collumn, reload does nothing, but gives the same warning I copy here: failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu/*. package 404 not found. I guess the address is still slightly wrong. horst

Re: Installing open cpn on rpi 3
To be readable I have added the *.
You must remove these *.
Still one left in your post.
have you added trusty to the third
and then main ?
In must version this works.
If it still does not work, you can trusty replace with xenial, a newer version.
so it must look like
deb
then the server adres without the *
trusty or xenial
main
If you don't make a typo error. I'am sure it works.
Regards,
Bram

Got it downloaded Bram! You did it for me and possibly many followers. So: Many thanks. I copied and pasted your last address into synaptic.( it works from here into Synaptic!)

Re: Installing open cpn on rpi 3
Hi,
nice to read that it now works.
with uname -r you can the kernel version.
with sudo BRANCH=next rpi-update you can update the kernel.
Succes with OpenCPN.
Regards,
Bram
