Installing on Debian Sid

Hi all,
I succesfully built OSPN on my Debian Sid box, and I built a deb from it as indicated in the manual.
However, dpkg -i fails, because it searches for libwxgtk3.0-0 and libtinyxml2.6.2, whereas in the official repo there are libwxgtk3.0-0v5 and libtinyxml2.6.2v5.
Any hint appreciated.

You may try to edit the OpenCPN CMakeLists.txt around line 73:

    SET (PACKAGE_DEPS "libc6, libwxgtk3.0-0, wx3.0-i18n, libglu1-mesa (>= 7.0.0), libgl1-mesa-glx (>= 7.0.0), zlib1g, bzip2, libtinyxml2.6.2, libportaudio2")

Rebuild from the top, and it should work.

Please report back how this goes.

Great, done. I finally can use OCPN!
I'm available for help making a proper package for inclusion in Debian.

Sorry to bother again: at first display, no background map is shown, whereas from the manual it apparently should. Do I have to point to one installation directory?

Added on Options>Charts>Chart files:
/usr/local/src/OpenCPN/data/gshhs
/usr/share/maps/gshhs
still nothing

the gshhs charts are not loaded like normal charts.

They must be in the correct location, see ~/.opencpn/opencpn.log, and search for gshhs, and you will see where they must be located.

ln -s /usr/local/src/OpenCPN/data/gshhs /usr/local/share/opencpn/
did the trick
perhaps the packaging should take care of this

However, when using the detailed map:
ln -s /usr/share/maps/gshhs /usr/local/share/opencpn/
I get:
Unable to initialize background world map. No GSHHS datafiles found in /usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/
even if:
ls /usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/wdb*
/usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/wdb_borders_c.b /usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/wdb_rivers_c.b
/usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/wdb_borders_f.b /usr/local/share/opencpn/gshhs/wdb_rivers_f.b
