Inland waterway charts, WA State

I boat in Washington State and am using OCPN 5.0. It all works fine, and I have all the ENC's for Puget Sound and the Columbia River.
The first of my problems is that I also boat on our many lakes but can find no charts for these lakes, apart from Lake Washington.

The NOAA doesn't provide them. I've also looked at the US Army Corps of Engineers sites but they seem to deal only in the inland waterways of our eastern states.

I'm looking specifically for ENC charts of the following lakes:
Lake Whatcom (will be here in July)
Lake Crescent (will be here in August)
Lake Mayfield (will be here next year)

Second problem: There is a square void in the center of the chart for the Willamette River going through Portland, Oregon which I believe is called US5OR15M.000

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ryan

Re: Inland waterway charts, WA State

I use RNC charts and thru Portland is fine. Could be a missing chart or chart overlap at some magnification.
For lakes maps try US and state forestry. Lake charts may be in map booklets, but doubt they exist in digital.
Picture - is this the square? from NOAA enc chart catalog.

Re: Inland waterway charts, WA State

Thanks for answering! That is indeed the square!
I have found that the chart in THAT square will appear if you enable the visibility of a chart way out at the Pacific Coast. It seems to be an "outlier" portion of a coastal chart!

The US Forestry Service has all sorts of topographical e-maps and GIS data available, but no charts of lakes, so I guess I'm out of luck.

Cheers,
Ryan

Re: Inland waterway charts, WA State

In the 80s we used to sail on Clear Lake, CA for the summer months, trailering our Catalina 22 north from SF for Memrl Day to Labor Day, then back to winter sailing on The Bay.

IIRC, the ONLY "chart" of that lake, which is the largest in Northern California, was NOT charted. And the hand drawn sketch chart had been reproduced on a large piece of paper, four times the size of 8 1/2 x 11.

The usual "not for navigation" was prominent.

Local knowledge is whatcha get. Actually, all ya get.

The "square void" within US5OR15M.000 is US5OR16M.000.
