I have a KML file (attached) used to show routes along the Pacific coast of agreed areas that fisherman will not lay crab traps. I would like to be able to import this KML data to OpenCPN. As I will be doing the cruise up the coast in September this info on my charts will be very helpful. They also offer the data as a .txt and .nob files for Nobletec and Rosepoint Nav software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got it and did some conversion. But my conversion program reported the number of routes exceeded its capacity so one route was not stored. It successfully converted five routes.
However, displaying your .kml file in Google Earth shows only five routes.
So some confusion here but perhaps this is what you wanted?
.gpx file attached and two screen shots from OpenCPN.

Hi Terry,
I have posted a reply with where I got the data it should be showing up after it goes through the moderator. Thanks so much for all you have done I think this will be a great addition for the many cruisers that go up and down the coast. Like the Baja Ha Ha group.

Hi Bruce,
Just a quick look at the data and I think there are many more towlanes along the coast going down as far as San Francisco. I think you've hit upon an excellent resource that needs some more work.
I'll see what I can do when I get some free time.

Hi Terry
I got the Kap files loaded and displaying. They look great! This will help alot in my planning. Are Kap files a common type. Thinking we should spread the word.
