Hi --
I have several independant systems ie
open cpn for nav, auto pilot, and
radar, and I am trying to make these systems talk to each other, at least on a basic level. Here is my question: Can I have more than one USB input feeding into
Open cpn?
At the moment, I have my
GPS feed via a USB/Serial adapter, and that works fine. However, I'd like to add
AIS, and also the heading info from the Airmar heading
sensor that guides my
autopilot, and this is on a
NMEA 2000 backbone. There are multiple options for
AIS units that use USB to connect to the computer, and I believe that most will multiplex the
gps data they need and pass it on to the computer, so I could combine my gps and AIS data into one usb connection. I can get a
NMEA 2000 to USB adapter that would allow me to get the Airmar heading info into the computer.
At this point, I would have two USB connections sending data to the computer -- can open cpn have more than one connection of this type?
Sorry to be so long winded!
Thanks in advance for all replies!
