Help! Toggle Tracking Accidentally Disabled

Hi all,

I just came in through a tricky GPS-waypoint-only entrance over the bar and into the river and up to Krabi Boat Lagoon in Thailand. Following SW swell, squalls building and rainy season water murkiness made it all a git hairy. But, I made it.

Unfortunately, I discovered when I went below after anchoring that, like a bonehead, I had accidentally turned off Toggle Tracking in the toolbar at some point. No track! I would like to be able to follow my same track back out, is there any way to reconstruct a track from the logfile if toggle tracking was disabled?

Thank for any help.

Re: Help! Toggle Tracking Accidentally Disabled

I can offer you my track instead... but it was 3 years ago, and we were drawing 1.05m, so probably less than you... I remember it was close...

The LOGBOOK entries in the log file are there, made every 1/2 hour.

Maybe you had a handheld on, and recording?

PS. I assume the recording plugins were off (e.g. VDR, Logbook), just mentioning them here for completeness.

Re: Help! Toggle Tracking Accidentally Disabled

I had my chart plotter (Garmin 4008) on and recording but I have it set to very low resolution so that the memory does not fill up and it will not give me an accurate representation. While at sea, it is set to every 3nm--my computer is plugged in and usually gives me the detail later and chart plotter while I am moving...

Admittedly, I am from the stone age and I am not up on all the plugins for openCPN. Could VDR or Logbook have prevented this?

Is there any way to retrieve that track?
