Help: O-Charts plugin refuses to open O-Charts Shop

A missing navobj.xml file is normal on first run after installation, and before any routes or marks are created. Logfile entries look more dire than the situation warrants.

Now in my Mac I have the following 2 paths.
1. MacbookAir/Macintosh Hd/Library/Application Support/ there is nothing related to Opencpn here
2. MacbookAir/MacintoshHD/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Opencpn/Contents/Plugins/oexserverd

Is it ok? or maybe does some of the problem comes from the per-to-peer "cloning" of the old Intel Mac?

I think I might have followed the wrong path before & that the preference file does indeed exist. But, I apologize, I had to go out for couple of hours now. Asap I’Il be back, I’ll check and report.

Thanks everybody. I read the new log file and as I did not find apparent oecservrd errors I restarted Opencpn & tried to load charts... Surprise: my sysstem now produces the .fpr file. No idea what happened before or why. I am at your disposal if you wish to find the reasons of malfunction. In the meanwhile, thanks Dave and Hubert for the great assistance.
Ps: I still do not manage to get the charts directly via the plugin in Opencpn (I had to request a download link to the shop) as, strange enough, even if I authorized the new system with the new .fpr and I selected the charts with the plugin, no "download" button appears. (see attachment).

There is still something "fishy": no System Name in your chart list panel. Upper left.



What does "Preferences" of the o-charts plug-in tell?

It says "pending chart refresh"... which I'll do now.

Done, but no change in pref. still "pending refresh". On the other end, a download button appeared after the refresh in the O-Charts window (!), but still no system name....

Now my system dowloads the charts, still no system name. But in the popup window at download, the system name appears...

I suspect that this is the source of your problems:


"The new Mac is (was) simply a per-to-peer wifi clone of the previous one..."


Whatever that process is, it seems to have confused the o-charts support utility oexserverd. It should be understood that charts licensed from o-charts are cryptographically tied to a specific machine. It is not possible to "clone" them to another machine.



Is there some way to remove OpenCPN entirely (I mean entirely) and start over with a fresh download from opencpn.org?

hi dave! The previous system (old Mac) did not have any chart. It was an empty Opencpn I used only to see how it looked in Mac version (I used a windows opencpn with charts aboard) So, no chart cloning at all :-)
