Grib request from android OpenCPN v 5.2.2

Hi, I think I've missed a step in the setup somewhere but can't figure it out.

I've installed the latest release of OpenCPN on a Samsung tablet running android and I can't get the grib file request to send an email.

All I get os a "Downloading Grib File" window followed by a "Connection Failed" message?

I'm using gmail as my email, however I don't have a native email app set up on the tablet, just using the gmail apps - is this the issue?

OpenCPN for Android does not use email to request a GRIB file. The plugin accesses the selected GRIB servers directly.
You may get more specific assisteance from the dedicated OpenCPN for Android Forum...

Sounds to me like you downloaded/installed the PC version of OpenCPN. It sort of works but not quite.

I installed the paid for version directly from the google play store - so pretty sure its the correct android version - just can't get to download grib files. I'll ask in the Android forum, thanks.

Do you know if there is an issue with the Forum (https://bigdumboat.com/aocpn/forum/index.php) 'cos I registered this morning and am still waiting for a 'confirmation' email to allow me to log in.
