googlearth lost

Has google earth update stopped it displaying on opencpn again? it was working fine but not tried for 5 weeks whilst we relocated to Europe, now it doesn't. wanting it on a delivery trip for our new to us boat and hoping I just did something daft.

I think you've to explain more what you're talking about. Google Earth on OpenCPN? The only similar function I know is OpenCPN for Android and its connection to Google Maps. And that one is working fine here. Or GE2KAP to make georeferenced satellite pictures? Or save routes/tracks as .kml to show in Google Map?

I mean the GE plug in linked to chart view. that moves and scales with it.

have you updated google earth at all? i believe it only works with 7.0.0 and earlier

mine was working fine on the latest version but I believe there is a recent update now it says 7.3.1

I just uninstalled the latest GE and downloaded an older version 7.0 and all is working again. I guess until GOOGLE updates yet again. grrrr!!

where did you find 7.0? do you have a link?

I should have saved it but didn't I either googled it or found a link on the opencpn site, sorry. you could try this one.

Yes the latest version of Google Earth Pro will automatically uninstall any old versions and the API needed for OpenCPN and GE2KAP no longer works and my fix to turn it back on no longer works.

The only way out of it is to:
- Use the Control panel to Uninstall all versions of Google Earth and Pro
- Restart windows (very important)
- Download an old version and install like the one from my website that Sailor F54 posted.
